had long wanted to see butoh dance, and what I saw was up to my expectations. Recently I attended several workshops in Madrid shows and I could take pictures of the artists. Here are some: Hisako Horikawa gave a performance in La Tabacalera Lavapies few days ago with Alessandra Rombolá who improvised music. The proposal, organized by The Moulin Rouge and Scenario Masuno, called: The body is still sitting with his wings (I love it!).
In late February there was a butoh dance festival in Leganés where they danced three artists Mayte Vaos (pictured), Katsura Kan and Sharoni Stern Siegel . I was very impressed too.
I am totally fascinated by this art and I have in mind to do some work in relation to this, so if there are people of butoh want to contact me, please do not hesitate!
PS: A small entry that talks about Japanese culture with many thoughts to Japan in times of disaster.
